Microsoft released Windows 10 in 2015 as the latest operating system for PCs and laptops of the company, which is still the newest one until today with great features and regular updates that makes it one of the most reliable, if not the best and most stable OS in the world of personal computers.
With Windows 10, Microsoft included two new platforms and software that were not available before. On the other side, with Windows 10 was included a completely new voice assistance that answer questions and commands in real time, being Cortana. This personal voice assistance made the jump from mobile devices and Windows 10 Mobile and also from Halo games, to become the partner of every Windows 10 user to help them achieve more.
With these two platform Windows 10 becomes a greater and more functional operating systems for PC and laptops. Unfortunately, some users are reporting a problem in which Microsoft Edge and Cortana aren’t working anymore. In the next section we will be solving this issue with some methods that allow to make these platforms to keep up and running again.
Fixing the problem with Edge and Cortana in Windows 10
The problem some users are having in Windows 10 respecting Cortana and Edge is that these platforms do not work at all, simply crashing at the moment the user clicks on them. The issue might be caused for several reasons, although it can be solved trying the next methods.
If both apps are crashing, there is a great probability that this problem is related to the use of a poorly optimized antivirus software. So, it is recommendable to uninstall the third-party malware software if that is the one used, then restart the computer and try again to run Edge or Cortana. It is advisable to use Windows Defender as antivirus, since it is a goof and secure platform when it up to date.
If this does not seem to fix the problem, another thing the user can try is clicking on the app icon on Edge with the right button of the mouse, and then select the option “App Settings”. A menu will appear on the configuration menu where user can click on “Fix”, and this should solve the problem.
